There is an active Parent Teachers' Association known as "The Friends of Rosslyn", who meet regularly each term. Close relationships are fostered between the school and parents. We work together to organise various events to raise funds for the purchase of new equipment for the school.

We have an open door policy at Rosslyn. The Principal and teachers are always happy to discuss children's progress with parents and answer any queries that may have arisen. We report formally to parents each term.
In the autumn and spring terms we offer Parent's Consultation Evenings where parents are invited to view their child's work, discuss progress and set new targets. At the end of the summer term parents receive a detailed written report on their child's progress.
Regular Newsletters are sent out each term to keep parents fully informed of forth coming events and activities. Class teachers also send information on what the child will be studying in class so that lessons can be supported at home.
We organise regular fund raising events for a variety of causes each year and have raised substantial sums of money for local and national charities.

Tuition is offered during the school day to children who are strong candidates for 11+ examinations when they reach Year 5. This is inclusive of fees and gives children practice in verbal and non verbal reasoning, as well as teaching key skills in mathematics.
From Year 4, tuition is offered after school once a week and there is an additional charge for this.

Varied and nutritious lunches are prepared daily on the school premises by our experienced cook. The 'five a day' scheme is incorporated into the menu and fresh fruit and vegetables from our local grocers are used.
Special diets for vegetarian, medical or religious purposes are available on request.
All children are expected to take school lunch as this is an integral part of the school life.

The School uses the facilities of the local leisure centres, including Fox Hollies, Norman Green, Tudor Grange, and local playing fields. Shirley Methodist Church is used for Speech Night and end of year plays.

There can be no substitute for a visit, so please come and see us at work and play. We would be delighted to welcome you to our school and show you what we have to offer. Please telephone for an appointment.
